This 08-01-76 anteroposterior x-ray revealed bilateral pulmonary infiltrates in a patient diagnosed with Legionnaires' disease (LD). See PHIL 5156, for a 08-03-76 x-ray that had been taken 2-days later, and 16377, for a 07-29-76 x-ray taken 3-days before, giving you some idea as to the progression of this patient's illness. Legionnaire's disease is an acute and sometimes fatal respiratory illness caused by the Legionella pneumophila bacterium.
