Caption:
This image depicts a close view of a female patient’s perineum, revealing the presence of condylomata lata lesions of the vagina, which included the perineum. This condition had been due to what was diagnosed as a case of secondary syphilis, caused by the bacterial spirochete, Treponema pallidum Note the knobby, almost pustular appearance of the vaginal lesions, and the accompanying depigmentation of the perianal region.
