This photomicrograph of a periodic acid-Schiff (PAS)-stained tissue sample, extracted from the margin of the patient’s orbit, in a case of ocular sporotrichosis, revealed histopathology associated with this disease. Sporotrichosis is caused by the fungal organism, Sporothrix schenckii, the presence of which was later confirmed by a fluorescent antibody (FA)-stained tissue sample as well.
