This image focuses on the right arm and hand, of a patient from Kolkatta, also known as Calcutta, the capital city of the Indian state of West Bengal, who had presented to a clinical setting exhibiting these cutaneous lesions. It was determined that these lesions had been due to a sporotrichosis infection, due to the fungal organism, Sporothrix schenckii, and that the primary lesion was located on the patient’s thumb, while the forearm bore the secondary lesions.
