This is a reverse view of a Petri dish culture plate that had contained a growth medium of Sabouraud dextrose agar, which was inoculated with the dermatophytic fungal organism, Trichophyton equinum, and was then incubated for 26-days. From behind the colony is a pale yellow at its periphery, becoming rust colored towards its center.
