Caption:
This historic 1974 image depicted a group of four University of North Carolina students, who had just arrived at what at the time was formerly known as the Center for Disease Control (CDC), but later was changed to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They’d come in order to attend the former Public Health Laboratory Practice (PHLP) Graduate Program. The students were Michael Kimberly, Don Stalons, Rudy Romero, and Gilda Jones, as they were standing outside the front entrance of what was formerly Building 1, located on the CDC Headquarters Roybal Campus, in the suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. Building 1 has since been replaced by more modernized facilities.
