This 1974 image depicted laboratorian Margaret M. Floyd, as she was in the process of demonstrating her work with the bacterium, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, while working beneath a laminar flow hood, and using a pipette bulb to transfer liquids between containers. Ms. Floyd was wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), which consisted of a disposable head cover, a disposable facemask covering her nose and mouth, and latex gloves.
