Caption:
This close-up photograph of a section of human skin, revealed the presence of the erythematous papules, which were the result of this individual having been bitten by imported fire ants. There are two species of imported fire ants, the red imported fire ants (RIFA), Solenopsis invicta, and the black imported fire ants (BIFA), S. richteri. In this particular instance, it is not known, which species was responsible.
