This is a close view of a Petri dish culture plate that contained a growth medium of brain heart infusion (BHI) agar, which had been inoculated with Gram-positive, facultatively anaerobic, Actinomyces bovis bacteria. These particular organisms were derived from an R6 variant of an R colony, which was cultivated from a grass colony.
