Seen from the reverse, these three test tube slant cultures had contained Sabouraud dextrose agar, which had been inoculated with the dermatophytic fungal organism, Trichophyton tonsurans. After the 10-day point in their incubation, the three cultures gave rise to colonies of the organism, which exhibited the characteristic velvety texture, wrinkled, or puckered surface, and white to off-white coloration, visible from the frontal view seen in PHIL 16075.
