Caption:
Under a magnification of 200X, this photomicrograph revealed numerous branching mycelia of the dermatophytic fungal organism, Trichophyton ferrugineum, also referred to as Microsporum ferrugineum. Note that the mycelial branching had taken on the form referred to as a thicket formation, which means that the branches grow in a backward direction from the primary hypha.
