Caption:
This patient presented with a pyodermal lesion located proximally, on the dorsum of the penis. Note the crusty, centrally situated scabby region, surrounded by an erythematous, inflammatory halo. Pyoderma involves the formation of a purulent, necrotic, rather deep, pus-filled skin lesion. These long-standing lesions can often lead to scarification due to the involvement of the deep stratum germinativum, and dermal tissues.
