These live Dungeness crabs, Metacarcinus magister, also known as, Cancer magister, were being kept fresh and cold inside an aquarium, located in a farmers market awaiting a hungry shopper. Dungeness crabs are native to the west coast of North America. Cooking these crabs entails dropping them into boiling salt water, and after the water has returned to a boil, cooking for 15 minutes.
