Description: Caption:
This Floridian bottlenose dolphin, Tursiops truncates, displayed a cutaneous lesion (arrow), which had been determined to be a case of lobomycosis, caused by the fungal organism, Lacazia loboi, formerly Loboa loboi. Note the roughened, irregular texture and shape of the lesion, when compared to the animal’s normally appearing smooth, gray colored skin.
