This image depicts a juvenile double yellow-headed Amazon parrot, Amazona oratrix, perched atop his cage in a pet store. This bird is an endangered specie, native to Mexico and northern Central America. In the background, you can also see a perched African grey parrot, Psittacus erithacus, a closer view of which may be seen in PHIL 15007. Care should be taken with all pet birds in order to avoid acquiring possible diseases they may carry. Infection is acquired by inhaling dried secretions from infected birds.
