This image depicts an anterior view of a patient’s face, which displayed the morphologic changes in the facial symmetry due to a zygomycotic infection, caused by the fungal organism, Rhizopus arrhizus. Zygomycosis is also known as mucormycosis, and in this case, involved the patient’s right eye region causing a drooping of the upper eyelid and the right side of the face, and the expression of an ophthalmic exudate.
