This image depicts a front view of a Petri dish culture plate that had cultivated a large colony of the dermatophytic fungus, Trichophyton mentagrophytes. The colony displayed a morphology consisting of a granular appearance, and a beige coloration. A concentric pattern of enlarging circles, emanating from the colony’s center, was also apparent. T. mentagrophytes colonial coloration ranges from white, to bright yellowish-beige, to red- violet.
