Description:This photomicrograph reveals some of the ultrastructural details of an Enterobius vermicularis egg, otherwise known as the ''human pinworm''.
The nematode, or round worm, E. vermicularis is the causal agent of enterobiasis. The eggs are elongated, flattened on one side, and from 50-60 µm x 20-32 µm in length.
