Description:This image depicts the genitalia of an adult male revealing the presence of a congenital penile deformity known as epispadias, consisting of an abnormally-short urethra that opens to the outside of the penis before reaching the tip of the glans penis.
Though the cause of this genetically-based deformity is unknown, the result consist of a malformation of the urethra, which is the tube leading from the urinary bladder to the body’s exterior, through which urine and semen are expelled. This condition leads to a urethra that may open to the exterior anywhere along its length.
