Caption:
This image depicts the genitalia of an adult male revealing the presence of a congenital penile deformity known as epispadias, consisting of an abnormally short urethra that opens to the outside of the penis before reaching the tip of the glans penis. Though the cause of this genetically based deformity is unknown, the result consist of a malformation of the urethra, which is the tube leading from the urinary bladder to the body’s exterior, through which urine and semen are expelled. This condition leads to a urethra that may open to the exterior anywhere along its length.
