|Description:||This 1981 image depicts a virtual “patient”, who was actually a healthy participant in a practice activity, walking as if she were ill, and who was about to be enclosed in a Vicker’s patient-isolation unit, which would normally be used to transport critically-ill patients to nearby medical centers. Note the assistance that the patient was receiving from another participant in this activity.|
The image was captured during a trial run of a patient taken from CDC to a nearby medical center. A doctor was administering care to the patient with supportive help from the Isolation Unit medical staff. See PHIL 14505 through 14529, for imagery documenting this practice emergent situational scenario.
