This historic image from 1980, depicts two of the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) former Directors, Dr. William H. Foege (1977 – 1983) at left, and Dr. David J. Sencer (1966 – 1977), during a CDC awards ceremony. In this particular view, Dr. Foege was presenting Dr. Sencer with the first annual commemorative Dr. Joseph W. Mountin award.
