Donald Millar, MD, DTPH, standing next to a map of Western Africa and the coastal nations surrounding Nigeria, a description of the Yoruban beliefs concerning Shapona, the deity of smallpox who is considered the intermediary between man and God, and a votive sculpture representing Shapona.
