This image shows a young, Latin American child squatting beside two large, open plastic water storage containers, which had been filled with water gathered from a nearby water pipe (see PHIL 14337). Once the water reaches home, it is usually stored in a container like the ones shown here. Some water storage containers, like this yellow bucket, allow further contamination of the water. Introduction of safer vessels for storing water in the home, would be an important preventative step in the avoidance of contamination.
