This image was produced, by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 1997, and was entitled, AIDS Cases by Race/Ethnicity and Year of Report, 1985 – 1996, United States. The slide compares the percent of AIDS cases for white, non-Hispanic cases, to Black, non-Hispanic cases, to Hispanic cases, to Asian/Pacific Islander cases, and to American Indian/Alaskan Native cases. Of interest, is the way in which the number of AIDS cases dropped for white, non-Hispanics, beginning in 1987, while black, non-Hispanic case began to grow in 1987. Note how Asian/Pacific Islander, and American Indian/Alaskan Native cases remained virtually unchanged, at zero cases.
