From the “Illustrated Manual for the Recognition and Diagnosis of Certain Animal Diseases”, published in 1982, by the Mexico-United States Commission for the Prevention of Foot and Mouth Disease, captured at an animal’s necropsy, this image revealed hemorrhages in the mucosal lining of an unknown region of the gastrointestinal tract. Lesions like these may be found throughout the gastrointestinal tract, and may transform into areas of ulcerations, subsequently becoming necrotic as the disease progresses, in cases of velogenic viscerotropic Newcastle disease (VVND) infection. This illness is also known as exotic Newcastle disease, Asiatic or Doyle’s form of Newcastle disease.
