This photograph depicts a close view of the colonial morphology displayed by Gram-negative, Brucella melitensis bacteria, which were grown on a medium of sheep blood agar (SBA), for a 24 hour time period, at a temperature of 37°C. See PHIL 12399, for B. melitensis bacteria grown also, on SBA at the same temperature, but also, for a greater time period (72hr), and PHIL 12400, for B. melitensis bacteria grown on SBA at the same temperature, but for twice the time period (48hr). Brucella spp. bacteria are responsible for causing the disease known as brucellosis.
