This photograph depicts the colonial morphology displayed by Gram-negative, Burkholderia thailandensis bacteria, which was grown on a medium of chocolate agar, for a 48-hour time period, at a temperature of 42°C. Note the metallic sheen of these colonies. See both PHIL 12403 and 12404, for views of this bacterial species, grown on the same medium, for the same amount of time, however, at a lesser temperature of 37°C.
