This photograph depicts the colonial morphology displayed by Gram-negative, Brucella abortus bacteria, which was grown on a medium of chocolate agar, for a 48 hour time period, at a temperature of 37°C. See both PHIL 12368 and 12369, for views of B. abortus colonial growth, cultivated on the same medium and temperature, but at half the time period (24hr). B. abortus is a known cause for the disease brucellosis.
