As a closer view of PHIL 12371, this photograph depicts light colonial growth displayed by Gram-negative, Brucella abortus bacteria, which was grown on a medium of sheep’s blood agar (SBA), for a 24 hour time period, at a temperature of 37^°C. Members of this genus, including B. abortus, cause a disease known as brucellosis.
