This historic 1967 photograph, depicted two laboratory technicians, as they were in the process of dispensing cell suspensions, which would be used in the cultivation of primary cell cultures. Known as personal protective equipment (PPE), these two techs were wearing head-covers, facemasks and lab coats

Modern day protocols now call for the laboratorian executing such tasks, to wear such PPE including safety goggles and gloves.
