Description:Magnified 956X, this Gram-stained photomicrograph depicted numerous Gram-negative Fusobacterium sp. bacteria, which had been cultured for a 48 hour time period on a blood agar plate (BAP).
Pathogenic to humans, Fusobacterium spp. bacteria have been linked to a number of disease including periodontal disease, skin ulcerations, and Lemierre syndrome (LS).
