This historic image created in 1964, depicted a laboratory technician at work in one of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) laboratories. The technician was in the process of packing a number of reagents in an insulated container for shipping. Modern day protocols, now call for the laboratorian executing such tasks, to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety goggles, gloves, and a facemask.
