Caption:
Under a magnification of 500X, this photomicrograph revealed some of the cytoarchitectural morphology associated with a tissue reaction, due to the infiltration of Ochroconis gallopava, formerly Dactylaria gallopava, fungal organisms. Note the branching, septate hyphae, as well as a number of ovoid fungal spores, or conidia, also known as mitospores, born out of the process of mitosis, and are therefore, haploid when they reach maturity. This slide culture was cultivated on potato-dextrose agar for 7-days.
