This image depicts what had been a negative encapsulation test, using a split culture plate, which contained a blood agar growth medium on the right, and a bicarbonate agar medium on the left, each side having been inoculated with Bacillus cereus bacteria. Rough, B. cereus colonies, were cultivated on both blood and bicarbonate agars.
