As designated by its signage, this historic 1959 image depicted the front of a Health, Education, and Welfare, (HEW) Public Health Service (PHS), Communicable Disease Center (CDC), Toxicology Laboratory, Field Station, which was located in Wenatchee, Washington. The Communicable Disease Center (CDC) was the forefather to the modern day Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
