This photograph depicts the appearance of what was determined to be a secondary syphilitic lesion, which was located on the dorsal surface of a patient’s left hand. Known as an annular syphilid, the secondary lesions of syphilis present themselves with an annular, raised morphology. At their center, a clear region is noted, and their borders are papular in nature.
