This photograph depicts the reverse view of a Petri dish within which a fungal colony of a Mexican isolate ofTrichophyton rubrum var. rhodainii had been cultured atop a medium of Sabouraud’s dextrose agar (SDA). The coloration of this colony was yellowish at its perimeter, and dark reddish-brown at its center. Note that there was some indication of the wrinkled morphology seen on its frontal surface. For a view of its front, see PHIL 11086, where the wrinkled, raised, velvety textured characteristics were quite evident.
