Description:This photograph depicts the reverse view of a Petri dish within which a fungal colony of a Mexican isolate ofTrichophyton rubrum var. rodainii had been cultured atop a medium of Sabouraud’s agar.
Being a view from the reverse, you’ll note the coloration of this colony was yellowish brown at its perimeter, and reddish-brown at its center. You’ll also note that there was some indication of the wrinkled morphology seen on its frontal surface. However, for a clearer view of its front, see PHIL 11086, where the wrinkled, raised, velvety-textured characteristics were quite evident.
