Caption:
Photographed from the front, this image depicted a Petri dish containing a single, Ochroconis gallopava fungal colony, formerly known as Dactylaria gallopava. As a dematiaceous, or pigmented fungus, you will note that the coloration of this colony ranges from dark brown, to lighter shades of brown, and radiates in a ringed pattern from a raised center. The colonial texture is velvety in appearance. See PHIL 11082, for the reverse view of this colony.
