Caption:
Under a magnification of 400X, this photomicrograph revealed some of the ultrastructural morphology displayed by a cluster of Cladosporium herbarum conidia. In this particular image a number of haploid, asexual spores known as conidia were clustered at the tip of a spore forming conidiophore. Numbers of free floating can also be seen, as well as small chains of these reproductive cells. These conidia are also known as mitospores, for they are born out of the process of mitosis, and are therefore, haploid when they reach maturity.
