Under a magnification of 1180X, this 1973 photomicrograph of a hematoxylin-eosin (H&E)-stained specimen, revealed the presence of Naegleria gruberi, free-living amoebae in a human brain tissue sample, in a case of primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM).
