This 1968 photograph depicted a frontal view of a male smallpox sufferer inside a hospital, who displayed the classically distributed centrifugal maculopapular rash. Note that the lesions were most densely populated on his face, then hands and feet (though not visible here), and least numerous on the chest and abdomen.
