This chicken was displaying paralytic symptoms, which had been the result of having ingested an insecticidal compound known as Ruelene, also referred to as crufomate (4-tert-Butyl-2-chlorophenyl methyl N-methylphosphoramidate), which is used as an agricultural pesticide to kill cattle lice, grubs, and horn flies.
