Created in 1970, this historic image depicts what was the unveiling ceremony of the bust of Hygeia, which took place in front of what was the former Building 1, on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Roybal campus in Atlanta, Georgia. Left to right, stood Archbishop Iakovos, Ambassador B. Vitsaxis, Dr. John E Skandalakis, and Dr. David J. Sencer. Hygeia is the Greek goddess of health. The marble bust, which stood at the entrance to CDC Building 1 on Clifton Road in Atlanta, Ga., was dedicated in December 1970.
