This trichrome-stained photomicrograph, depicted a mature, Entamoeba coli cyst, containing five, clearly visible nuclei, and a what may have been a sixth nucleus, which was outside the focal plane, and therefore, out of focus. The cyst also contained a visible chromatoid body.
