This is an illustration of a photomicrograph, which revealed the presence of darkly-stained, rod-shaped, Bacillus anthracis bacteria, that had been cultivated in an agar culture. The sample had been processed using the Fuchsin-methylene blue spore stain, thereby, revealing a number of endospores, as well.
