ID#: 1785
Caption:
Under a relatively-low magnification of 20X, this photomicrograph reveals histopathologic details exhibited by a Giemsa-stained section of a mediastinal lymph node, harvested from a cynomolgus monkey, Macaca fascicularis , which had succumbed to a case of inhalation anthrax, caused by the bacterium, Bacillus anthracis. Note the presence of severe hemorrhagic necrosis.
