In this 1993 image, a woman was shown seated in this swimming pool’s motorized lift, which allowed her to be seated in a comfortable position, then would rotate so that she’d be extended out over the water, and slowly lowered into the pool at will. The inclusion of this device broadened the scope of its demographic usability, thereby, extending the accessibility to this facility to a wider range of participants. Designing recreation sites with the mobility challenged in mind, makes for an overall more user friendly environment for all, and is quite often, made even more efficient from a utilitarian standpoint.
