This photograph reveals gross pathologic changes in a bisected kidney tissue specimen, in a case of a large, renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Much of the kidney had been replaced by gray and yellow tumor tissue. A little remaining renal cortex, along with some pericapsular fat, were still visible at the bottom of this surgical specimen.
