Description:This was a 1994 photographic portrait of Marian Wright Edelman; Mrs. Edelman delivered the annual Joseph W. Mountin Lecture on September 7, 1994.
Marian Wright Edelman is the founder, and president of the Children’s Defense Fund (CDF). Mrs. Edelman was the first black woman admitted to the Mississippi Bar and began her career directing the NAACP Legal Defense Fund office.
