Description:Used in a 1940s health campaign, this poster directed at soldiers during World War II, urged servicemen to avoid visiting “Houses of Ill-Fame”, so as to not contract sexually transmitted diseases.
This was one of the numerous public health posters from the World War II that warned soldiers against contracting venereal diseases. This use of images, rather than just text, was an extremely powerful tool in fighting the spread of V.D. not only among the military, but in the United States as well.
